Feed Section:

  • The Feed Section Receives Veneer Sheets and Delivers them to the Dryer at Dryer Speed. It Consists of Ball Bearing Supported Rolls and a Structural Steel Frame
  • The Feed Section Uses only Bottom Rolls with a Single Top Flattening Roll at the Dryer Entrance to Assure the Entry of Wavy Veneer into the Double Roll Conveyor of the Dryer
  • A Veneer Lapping System Can be Provided on Each Deck to Remove End Gaps Between Veneer Sheets as they Shrink in the Drying Process

Dryer Conveyor:

  • The Top and Bottom Dryer Rolls Are Fabricated From 3-3/4" Diameter 12 Gauge Welded Steel Tubes that are Mounted on 12" Horizontal Centers Throughout the Dryer and Cooler
  • The Bottom Deck Drive Rolls Run in Special Graphite Bearings which are Mounted in Individual Cast Iron Brackets while the Star Gear Driven Top Rolls Run in Cast Open Yokes Allowing the Top Roll to Move up and Automatically Adjust for the Feeding of Various Veneer Thicknesses
  • All the Bottom Deck Drive Rolls are Powered by Tangent Steel Roller Chains, One per Deck, by Means of Hook Tooth Sprockets
  • The Deck Conveyors are Powered by Either a Special Drive Rig with Anti-friction Bearings and Internal Cascade Oil System or an Individual Deck Drive Tower with Gear Motors and Linked Frequency Drive Controls
  • An Automatic Deck Drive Chain Tightener Equipped with a Safety Mechanism for Stopping the Conveyor if the Chains Become Slack or Develop Excessive Tension is Provided

Frame:

  • The Frame is of Bolted and Welded Steel Construction, Designed for Maximum Strength and Machine Accessibility while Supporting the Rolls, Nozzles, Fans and Heaters
  • Adjustable Anchor Points Allow for the Dryer Sides to be Properly Aligned while the rest of the Machine is Supported by Expansion Rollers Allowing for Thermal Expansion and Contraction

Air Systems:

  • Recirculating Air Ducts Surround the Sides and Top of the Dryer Conveyor
  • Specially Ported, Tapered Nozzles Extending Across the Dryer Width are Designed with Other Dryer Sizing Features to Insure Uniform Sheet Drying from Top to Bottom and Side to Side
  • The Special Nozzle Construction Allows Easy Removal for Dryer Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Either Our Patented Automatic, "Single Point" or Remotely Controlled Individual Zone Exhaust Control Systems are Available
  • The Recirculating Duct is Constructed from Insulated Panels Manufactured with Either Mild Steel or Stainless Steel Inside and Outside Sheets

Dryer Fans:

  • Each Dryer Section Includes a Special, Plug Type, Airfoil Centrifugal Fan Mounted with a Vertical Shaft Above the Return Chamber of the Dryer
  • The Dryer is Fitted with an Automatic Grease Lubrication System which Serves All Main and Cooling Fan Bearings

Cooling Zone:

  • Consists of Enclosed, Un-insulated Fan Powered Sections that Utilize a Single Pass Impingement Cooling System whereas Air is Received from and Exhausted to Atmosphere Above the Factory Roof

End Baffles:

  • Heavy-duty End Closure Baffles are Provided at the Green End of the Dryer and also at the Entrance and Exit of the Cooling Section

Dryer Doors:

  • Hinged Insulated Doors of Welded Steel Frame Construction are Provided on Each Side of Each Section
  • The Doors Can be Constructed from Either Mild Steel or Stainless Steel Inside and Outside Sheets

Insulated Floor:

  • An Insulated and Sealed Floor Can be Provided in the Heating Sections, Wet End Seal Section and Forced Draft Cooling Sections to Improve Efficiency and Reduce Fugitive Emissions

Control and Instrumentation:

  • Indicating Thermometers are Mounted near the Center of Each Zone for Walk by Observation
  • A Drying Time Recorder for Indicating Drying Time in Minutes is Provided
  • Zone Temperature Recorder/Controllers are Furnished for Indicating, Controlling and Plotting All Zone Temperatures
  • A Main Operator's Control Console is Provided where the Speed Recorder, Temperature Controllers and Touch Screen Allows Operator Interface for Control of All Fans, Conveyor Drive and Exhaust Controls
